Our work with interior designer, Alex Meachen, showcased in 25 Beautiful Homes Magazine.

We were absolutely delighted to have our work featured in this month’s 25 Beautiful Homes Magazine.

We worked alongside the incredibly talented Alex Meachen from Alex Interiors, helping to design and deliver all of the window dressings, soft furnishings and upholstery for this stunning house renovation in Kew, Alex’s first major interior design project.

Alex had a clear vision for the project as a whole, and for each room, so we played an important and exciting supporting role – helping bring his vision to life with design builds, executional expertise and guidance.

He brought us in early so we were able to advise and accommodate window dressings into the construction plan and budget.

The story of Alex’s first major interior design project – that amazingly ended up being featured in a magazine.

We met with Alex and his clients on site to discuss each window, the practical and aesthetic requirements, and agree a plan which we were then able to cost up. We provided the pros and cons of different window treatment and hardware options to ensure the client got exactly the benefits they required. Having the plan agreed and costed early on meant the client could relax with no surprises down the track.

Katherine is an absolute joy to work with. Her super-friendly, collaborative nature teamed with her expert knowledge of soft furnishings and simply stunning fabrics is one of the most enjoyable parts of the interior design process. Working with Katherine is a sure-fire way to add something truly special into a space.

‘I’d not realised just how many different fabrics would be needed – it blew my mind’ Alex.

As the project progressed Alex visited our studio to present his mood boards and colour palettes and together we explored our extensive fabric library to find the perfect fabrics to bring his vision to life, he left with fabric sample combinations for each room to present to his clients.

We were able to help with colour, texture, pattern and fabric suitability introducing Alex to new fabric ranges from a great selection of different manufacturers.

Window dressings and much more…

As well as curtains and blinds we also helped design and make the curved, fluted banquette seating in the kitchen – advising the joinery company on the construction, suggesting suitable fabrics and taking care of the upholstering.

We commissioned a bespoke corner sofa to perfectly fit the basement cinema, made to the exact size and specification of the interior designer.

We also helped design and make cushions in wonderful fabric combinations for the bedrooms and living areas.

Further the clients had lots of good quality furniture they wanted to keep but that needed a refresh. So we worked with Alex to find fabrics to re-upholster them. Choosing bold, fresh colours in inspiring combinations really made a statement and gave them a new lease of life.
